The commute does not have to be the same journey every day. Look for a comfortable route with manageable traffic, a safe place to park and a little room to enjoy the scenery.
Keep the everyday essentials simple
Prepare the night before. Keep a lock, weather layer and repair essentials ready to go. If your trip is new, try it on a quieter day before making it part of your work routine.
Leave room for a detour
Once the familiar route feels easy, a weekend ride can become a chance to explore. Plan around your ability, leave time for breaks and tell someone your route when heading somewhere remote.
